My philosophy

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I grew up taking piano lessons and singing in choir, and later picked up the guitar. I’ve always loved teaching others, so becoming an elementary music teacher was a natural fit for me.

I believe that every child is musical and can benefit greatly from learning to play an instrument. I strive to create a fun and supportive environment in my classes, where students can feel comfortable making mistakes and exploring their creativity.

My influences

I grew up in a small town in the Midwest, and my parents were both music teachers. I started playing piano when I was five years old, and later took up guitar and singing. In high school, I was part of a jazz band and choir, and we performed at venues all over the state. After graduation, I studied music education at the University of Missouri.

Since then, I’ve been teaching elementary music in the public schools, and also working as a freelance musician. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, spending time with my family, and playing with my two cats.

My goals

I want to be a professional musician. I would like to teach music, specifically guitar, and share my knowledge with students of all levels. I also want to continue to develop my skills as a producer and composer.
